Plywood Cases

Plywood Packaging
This is a very versatile and reusable method of packaging. Manufactured from 6mm or occasionally 9mm thick plywood, these cases solve many customers’ packaging problems. Designed primarily for the safe transportation of high value or bulky items, they have proved to be an extremely cost effective packaging solution.
  • Space saving fold flat design.
  • Riveted metal edge for strength.
  • No-nails just strapping.
  • Economical.
  • Strong.
  • Made to customer dimensions. Reusable / Returnable.
Timber Cases
We are well aware of the problems firms face with exporting and transporting goods, so it is all the more important to make sure you are getting the right packaging at the right price. Manufactured in 16 or 22mm timber, a very strong constructed case ideal for transportation / export of your goods.

Most companies specify a bespoke design for their timber and plywood cases, designed and manufactured to meet the exact requirements of their application. Careful consideration when specifying and designing plywood cases ensure the safest and most effective use of transportation and storage across the complete distribution process.
Using the most appropriate timber and plywood cases for your application minimises product damage, maximises available transport and storage space, optimises handling efficiency and helps towards compliance to health and safety and environmental regulations.

Specifying the Dimensions of a Timber or Plywood Cases
The dimensions of plywood cases are always expressed in the format of;
Length x Width x Depth (in millimetre units) with the measurements always referring to the internal dimensions of the plywood cases.

  1. Length refers to the lid length of the plywood case
  2. Width refers to the dimension that is at right angles to the Length
  3. The Depth is measured from the uppermost point of the plywood case to the floor.
Products Transported in the Timber or Plywood Cases
The type, quantity size and weight of the products being shipped, the way in which they are packaged and the manner in which they are stacked determines the design of the cases, the necessary working load requirements and weight distribution.
The Working Load of Timber and Plywood Cases
The working load of cases is a key factor in the design and specification process. For example, if  the case is to be used to handle 100 Kg of goods and the cases are to be stacked 3 cases high, then the case must be designed to withstand a static weight of 300 Kg. Using cases that are not ‘fit-for-purpose’ and are not capable of handling the weight of the products packed present a serious risk to health and safety.

Timber and Plywood Cases Destined for Export Markets
If your cases are to be used for exporting products to countries outside the EU, then it is likely that they will be subject to ISPM15 Phytosanitary regulations. This requires timber packaging to be treated inline with ISPM15 guidelines to ensure that they are free from pest infestation or wood and forest diseases that can be transferred via unprocessed raw wood, potentially having devastating effects on native timber species and their ecosystems.
